The sensible agreement.

These Terms explain the rules for using Wedding Kitty as a couple, guest or visitor. By creating an account, publishing a registry or making a contribution, you agree to them.

1. What Wedding Kitty provides

Wedding Kitty lets couples create a public wedding registry, describe gifts or funds, receive online contributions paid through Wedding Kitty and transferred by Stripe to a verified payout account, and record gifts received outside the platform. We provide the registry software and related administration tools. We are not the seller of a listed product, a financial adviser, a bank or an escrow service.

2. Who may use the service

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. If you use Wedding Kitty for another person or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to act for them. You must provide accurate account and payment-onboarding information and keep it current.

3. Accounts and security

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login details secure. Tell us promptly at hello@weddingkitty.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We may require verification or temporarily restrict access while investigating account security, fraud or legal compliance.

4. Registry pages and couple responsibilities

Couples control their registry wording, images, gift descriptions, goals, categories and publication status. Published pages are available to anyone with the URL and may be shared or indexed. Couples must:

describe gifts, plans and intended use of funds honestly;
have permission to upload and publish their content;
avoid publishing sensitive personal information;
keep contribution, tax and refund records required by law; and
not imply that Wedding Kitty endorses a product, cause or claim.

Gift images and product information may be imported from third-party pages or selected from image providers. Couples remain responsible for checking accuracy, rights and suitability before publishing.

5. Contributions and Stripe

Wedding Kitty accepts an online contribution from the guest through Stripe and instructs Stripe to transfer the couple's share to the payout account connected to that registry. Wedding Kitty is the merchant shown for the guest payment; the couple is the recipient of the transfer. Couples must complete Stripe's identity and bank-account checks and accept any recipient terms Stripe presents. Stripe controls payment acceptance, verification, transfer and payout timing, holds and account restrictions under its own terms.

Wedding Kitty does not receive or store full card or bank-account numbers. A contribution is complete only after Stripe confirms successful payment. Payout timing shown in Wedding Kitty is informational and may change when Stripe updates a transaction.

6. Fees

Wedding Kitty charges a one-time A$49 publication fee when a couple chooses to make their registry live. The publication fee unlocks that registry for ongoing publication and editing; it is not a subscription. Prices shown at checkout apply at the time of purchase, and refunds are provided where required by the Australian Consumer Law.

Wedding Kitty also charges a 2.5% platform fee on online contributions. Before publishing, couples choose whether that fee is deducted from the contribution or added transparently to the guest's checkout amount. Wedding Kitty pays Stripe's card-processing fee; it is not additionally deducted from the couple's share. Manual gifts recorded outside Wedding Kitty do not incur a Wedding Kitty fee.

Wedding Kitty charges 0% on manual gifts such as cash, PayID or bank transfers recorded by a couple. Those entries are bookkeeping records only: Wedding Kitty does not initiate, verify, hold or reverse the underlying transfer.

7. Refunds, disputes and mistakes

Guests should contact Wedding Kitty or the couple about an incorrect contribution or refund. Wedding Kitty controls the guest payment and is responsible for administering refunds, disputes and chargebacks through Stripe. Where funds have already been transferred or paid out, Wedding Kitty may recover the corresponding amount from the recipient as permitted by these Terms, Stripe's terms and applicable law.

Wedding Kitty may help identify a transaction or reflect a status reported by Stripe, but cannot guarantee a refund or override Stripe's processes. Platform fees are refunded only where required by law or where our payment configuration expressly causes them to be returned. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Acceptable use

You must not use Wedding Kitty for fraud, deception, money laundering, unlawful fundraising, prohibited goods or services, harassment, infringement, malware, automated scraping, interference with the service, or attempts to bypass access controls or payment limits. You must not create registry names or content that impersonate another person or misuse a trade mark.

9. Content rights

You retain ownership of content you create or upload. You grant Wedding Kitty a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, resize, display and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure and promote your registry while it is published. You can end this licence by deleting the content or account, subject to reasonable backup retention and legal obligations.

The Wedding Kitty service, branding, design and software are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not transfer those rights to you.

10. Third-party services

The service relies on providers including Stripe for payments, Supabase for authentication, database and storage services, Vercel for hosting, Resend for transactional email, Google for optional sign-in, and Unsplash where a user selects an Unsplash photograph. Their services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Links and imported product details do not amount to endorsement.

11. Availability, changes and suspension

We work to keep Wedding Kitty reliable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access. We may maintain, change or discontinue features. We may hide a registry or restrict an account where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, third-party requirements, non-payment, or a material breach of these Terms. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue.

12. Closing an account

You may unpublish a registry or ask us to close your account. Closing Wedding Kitty does not cancel pending transfers, payouts, refunds or disputes. We may close or disconnect the Stripe recipient account created for your registry and may retain transaction and compliance records where reasonably required by law, fraud prevention, dispute handling or legitimate business needs.

13. Consumer rights and liability

Our services come with rights and guarantees that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law and cannot be excluded. Nothing in these Terms limits those non-excludable rights.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for a couple's registry promises, a guest's decision to contribute, third-party products, external links, Stripe's processing decisions, or loss caused by information a user provides incorrectly. Where liability can lawfully be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the affected Wedding Kitty service or paying the reasonable cost of having it supplied again.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal or security changes. We will post the revised date and give reasonable notice of material changes where practicable. Changes do not retrospectively remove accrued rights. Continuing to use the service after a notified change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and the parties submit to the courts of Victoria and applicable Commonwealth courts. Mandatory consumer protections and any right to bring a claim elsewhere continue to apply.
